How these guides are presented
Editorial standards
Sources and testing
Updated guides cite relevant official documentation and distinguish executed examples from instructions checked only against documentation. A test on one operating system is not presented as a test on every supported platform. Screenshots identify the product or demonstration they show.
Authorship and assistance
The September 2026 revision used AI assistance to review and rewrite selected articles, compare duplicates and run local examples. Vector Linux is the site attribution for that work. The older archive includes inherited author names and first-person claims that have not all been verified; those labels should not be treated as evidence of firsthand expertise.
Meaningful updates and dates
Articles are no longer automatically republished just to give them a fresh date. An updated date should accompany a substantive content change. Original publication fields are retained where available, and a source-check note explains the scope of an updated guide.
Useful links
Contextual links point to a relevant next step. Related-guide sections connect readers to selected revised articles. When overlapping pages are consolidated, the earlier addresses redirect to the retained guide.
Corrections and commercial content
Use the contact form to report an error, including the article URL, software version and exact problem. The site displays advertising. Calculator estimates depend on their inputs and assumptions; verify current vendor information before making a purchase.
