How To Delete All Google Photos

Today, I want to share my experience with deleting all Google Photos from my account. It’s a process that might seem daunting at first, but with a little guidance, it can be done smoothly. So, let’s dive in and I’ll walk you through the steps.

Step 1: Accessing Google Photos

The first thing you need to do is open your web browser and go to photos.google.com. Log in to your Google account if you haven’t already.

Step 2: Selecting Photos

Once you’re logged in, you’ll see all your Google Photos. If you have a lot of photos, this might take a while to load. Take a deep breath and be patient.

To delete multiple photos, press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard, then click on the first photo you want to delete. While still holding the Shift key, scroll down and click on the last photo you want to delete. This will select all the photos in between.

Step 3: Deleting Photos

With the photos selected, you’ll see a menu bar at the top. Click on the trash can icon to delete the selected photos.

A confirmation dialog will appear. Read it carefully and make sure you understand that deleting photos is permanent and cannot be undone. If you’re sure, click on “Move to trash”.

Step 4: Emptying Trash

Now, your photos are not immediately deleted. They are moved to the trash folder, where they will stay for 60 days. If you want to delete them permanently, you need to empty the trash folder.

To do this, click on the hamburger menu icon (the three horizontal lines) on the top left corner of the page. In the menu that appears, click on “Trash”. You’ll see all your deleted photos.

At the top right corner of the page, you’ll find the empty trash button. Click on it, and another confirmation dialog will appear. If you’re absolutely sure you want to permanently delete your photos, click on “Delete forever”.

Step 5: Confirming Deletion

Once again, Google will ask you to confirm your decision. Deleting photos is irreversible, so make sure you have backed up any photos you want to keep. If you’re ready, click on “Delete forever” to confirm.

Conclusion

Deleting all Google Photos from your account might take some time and effort, but it’s definitely doable. Just be cautious and double-check before you permanently delete anything. It’s always a good idea to back up your important photos before making any drastic changes.
