How To Articles

Hello, dear Trello fans! I am thrilled to discuss my own personal knowledge and skill with you all about one of my all-time favorite Trello aspects: archiving boards on the Trello platform. Utilizing this feature allows for better organization and tidiness within your Trello workspace. Let’s delve into the details and learn how to properly archive a board on the Trello site.

Step 1: Accessing the Trello Website

To get started, open your web browser and navigate to the Trello website by entering the URL in the address bar. Once you’re on the homepage, log in to your account using your Trello credentials.

Step 2: Selecting the Board to Archive

Now that you’re logged in, you’ll be directed to your Trello dashboard. From the list of boards displayed, locate the board you wish to archive. It could be a personal project board, a team collaboration board, or any other board that you no longer need actively.

Step 3: Opening the Board Menu

Hover over the board you want to archive, and you’ll see three dots appear in the upper-right corner of the board thumbnail. Click on those three dots to open the board menu.

Step 4: Archiving the Board

Within the board menu, you’ll find various options. Scroll down until you see the “More” section. Under this section, you’ll find the “Close Board” option. Click on “Close Board” to initiate the archiving process.

At this point, it’s important to note that archiving a board does not delete it completely; it simply moves it to your list of archived boards. You can always access and restore archived boards whenever needed.

Step 5: Confirming the Archive

A confirmation dialog box will appear, asking for your final confirmation to archive the board. Review the information provided on this dialog box and make sure you have selected the correct board. Once you are certain, click on the “Archive” button to proceed.

Step 6: Viewing Archived Boards

To view your archived boards, go back to your Trello dashboard. Scroll down to the bottom of your boards list, and you’ll find the “Archived Boards” section. Click on the “See All” link within this section to view all your archived boards.

From this archived boards page, you can browse through your archived boards, search for specific ones, or even restore boards to make them active again. To restore an archived board, simply click on the “Unarchive” button associated with that board.

Archiving boards on the Trello website is a simple yet powerful way to keep your workspace organized and clutter-free. By following the steps outlined above, you’ll be able to easily archive and restore boards whenever needed. Remember, archiving boards doesn’t mean saying goodbye forever; it just puts them in a neat and accessible place for future reference. Happy Trello-ing!
